Veronica angrily confronts Duncan about the fact that Meg is pregnant; they are interrupted by news that Meg is in fact conscious, and she and Duncan decide to visit her. At the hospital, Meg reveals that her parents want to send her unborn child away to a questionable foster home; before they leave Meg begs Veronica to make sure that her baby neither be sent to that place or stay with her parents if something should happen to her.
Veronica comes home from the emotionally trying day to learn that she has jury duty during her Christmas break. While she works to dish out justice with 11 other Americans, Keith investigates the disappearance of the Aaron Echolls sex tapes from the evidence room.
At the end of the episode, Keith reveals to Veronica that Meg has died from a complication with her pregnancy, but that Meg’s daughter is alive.
