Although Aaron was found not guilty, he confesses the murder to Veronica, who he attempts to intimidate in an elevator. He ultimately meets his demise at the hands of Clarence Wiedman, as per Duncan’s request. Veronica has been following up on the little league team photo, calling everyone she can who appears in the photograph with Peter and Marcos. She eventually discovers that Beaver was on the team as well, but wasn’t in the picture.

The person who blew up the bus was Beaver, who got the explosives from Curly. He proved his know-how with explosives by doing the explosives work for Hart’s war movies. Curly told Weevil that he knew who blew up the bus, but was silenced before he could come forward. Beaver was the one who wrote “Veronica Mars” on Curly’s palm and sent him off a cliff.

Aaron finally goes on trial. On the stand he denies having sex with Lilly. He tells Logan that he’s going to win and that Logan shouldn’t testify because he’d go to jail for destroying the evidence. Logan does so anyway, as does Veronica, but Aaron puts on a vicious defense, exposing Veronica’s bout with Chlamydia and other illegal escapades and pointing out that Logan was given immunity for testifying. The jury finds Aaron not guilty on all counts.

He wanted to scare Woody for some reason that goes beyond his policies, but doesn’t get to tell Keith what Woody “really is.” He was bailed out by Meg’s father.

Harry Greene’s dog was hit by a car that swerved into his yard and sped off. He enlists Veronica into finding out who owns the car for unknown reasons. She puts out an advertisement in the paper regarding the car and finds out that it was the same car Gia saw before the crash. Eventually someone bites on the reward and Veronica is led to a blind woman’s house, who tells her that it’s her deceased husband’s car.

While investigating further, Veronica finds the outline of a Leprechaun sticker on the back. After some more tracking, she discovers Liam Fitzpatrick behind the wheel. It turns out that Billy Greene was yet another victim of Liam’s and that’s why his dog was killed.

Principal Van Clemmons hires Keith to determine why so many students are getting doctor’s notes from the same doctor excusing them for having Generalized Anxiety Disorder. He joins a speed dating service to try and find the doctor’s assistant. After sitting through numerous sessions with women who insulted him, annoyed him and disturbed him he finally was matched up with the assistant.

He returned to the school and provided Van Clemmons with a tape where she offered to sell an GAD doctor’s note for $1,000 (while Veronica was hiding in the principal’s closet). Van Clemmons used the information to eliminate Generalized Anxiety Disorder as a valid excuse to get out of class work, causing Veronica’s rival for the Kane scholarship to have to take a test she hadn’t studied for.

Jane’s sister has gone missing and Veronica must figure out what’s become of her before her wedding in three days. To further complicate things, she must do it without drawing attention from the groom. At Heidi’s apartment, evidence is found that she may have been expecting someone. Jane also mentions that she spotted someone who she thought was stalking Heidi.

After tracking her ATM and cell phone records, Veronica and Wallace find Heidi’s car abandoned in a parking lot, inside of the car they find the disposable camera from the night she disappeared. Jane manages to identify the man in the photo, but all they can see is the man’s shirt—a bowling shirt. The mysterious man turns out to be Vinny Van Lowe, a rival P.I. Eventually Heidi resurfaces when she calls her fiancé and Veronica attempts to call her, only to get a fax signal. Veronica returns to Heidi’s apartment to find a fax from Nick, Heidi’s old flame. Finally, Veronica catches up to Heidi and the two discover that it wasn’t Nick who sent the fax and the text messages she received from a friend weren’t from Kim.
It turns out that the family hired Vinny to try to drive her away from the wedding so that the family could keep the giant diamond ring. He attempted to convince her that Nick was cheating on her and thus make it so she would either back out or not show up, absolving Nick of having to call off the wedding himself.

The person behind the rash of pizza boy muggings has started to blackmail gay and lesbian students at Neptune with a list of closeted students he found in one of the wallets. The students being threatened go to Veronica for help, despite not revealing themselves. Eventually the mugger starts to attack random people instead of hapless pizza boys, first hitting Kelly Kuzio for his rims and wallet.

After realizing that the phony names being used are kids who are bullied for being Hispanic and dating white people or something similar, Veronica has Corny act as a dummy to catch the culprit. They find Arturo, a freshman attempting to curry favor with Thumper, but he didn’t steal Kuzio’s rims or blackmail anyone. This leads Veronica to deduce that one of the Pirate Ship posters is the blackmailer. She connects the vanity plates of a car with one of the screen names from the message board to find that Kuzio is the most recently blackmailed person and that the rims thing was set up by him to pay the money. She discovers that Kylie was the one who orchestrated everything thanks to a bugged letter. Her motivation was that she a.) she wanted money to get out of Neptune for college and b.) wanted to have her girlfriend come out as well.

Someone has stolen all of the money raised by the winter carnival, meant to pay for the senior trip. Unfortunately for Veronica, the money was in her possession before it was stolen, so she must clear her name or else pay up to the tune of $12,000. After several leads that wind up going nowhere, someone filming the festival for the video yearbook has caught the moment of the theft on tape, but not the actual theft itself, leaving Jackie, Madison, J.B., Weevil and Dick as the possible suspects.

They recover $3,000 of the senior money as well as a bag full of pills in one of the auto shop lockers thanks to a hunch from Veronica. The owner of the locker? Thumper. Also in the locker they find a paddle with some kind of code on it. She also finds a future exam of Mrs. Houser’s in the copy machine, put there by her teacher’s aide. Because he’s a Triton, he knew about the streaking, so he took the time to make the copy. Of course, this is just an added bonus. After J.B. confesses, Veronica sees a familiar looking boot print in the middle of some glitter. She uses a trash can to boost herself up and find the rest of the money, stashed away in the ceiling panels. Because Mrs. Houser is the only one wearing heals at the festival, she’s singled out as having skimmed some money from the cashbox off the top before reporting that initial $12,000. The next day, Weevil has a new car and reveals that he was the one who stole the money and hid it in the same places that Veronica looked, except she looked at the wrong times.
